Pasha for DNA
«Everyone has their own choices about who to love and who to be»
Pasha Vlasov poses for DNA Magazine and speaks about his tattoos.
Interview and photographs by Serge Lee.
Serge Lee: This is your second time in DNA. How do you feel about seeing yourself in the magazine again?
Pasha Vlasov: I never thought that I could look so good in photos. I still can’t believe that I’m featured for a second time in a real magazine.
We are impressed by your physique, of course, but it’s the tattoos that draw the eye. Tell us about them. When did you get your first tattoo?
My first was ten years ago and it was the most spontaneous decision ever. A friend and I were walking through the city, and he said, “You should get a tattoo.” So we walked into the nearest tattoo parlour and that’s where my tattoo journey began.
How many do you have now and what do they represent?
As for the total number – that’s a tricky question. It’s easier to say that about 75 per cent of my body is covered. My tattoos are more about art than having any specific meanings but the one on my back… you could call it a talisman.
When do you decide that it’s time to get a new tattoo?
It’s not quite like that. For ten years, I’ve been booking sessions with my tattoo artist once every three or four months because I decided I would get sleeves. But then we moved on to legs, back, and neck…
Are they all the work of the same artist?
All except the first one were done by my regular artist, Igor. We’ve been inseparable in the creative sense since we first met.
And what was the first tattoo?
It’s better not to ask! It was some kind of logo from a music label that my friend and I saw on his DJ bag.
I notice that there have been some changes on your left shoulder; now it’s just solid black and the previous design is covered up. Why is that?
Igor and I decided to do a cool black-on- black project, but before that, we had to fill the entire arm with black ink. You’ll see it all soon.
What does it take to have a body like yours? Do you live in the gym?
I’ve been involved in sports since childhood: swimming and sambo. But my mother thought school was more important so I had to give them up. I started going to the gym at the age of 20. Due to my high activity levels, everything burns off. I also play soccer, so I don’t restrict myself too much when it comes to food, but I don’t over-eat either. Everything requires a “golden mean” including food.
This photoshoot was the last one I did in Russia. Now we’re thousands of kilometres apart… How many of your friends have left Russia in the past year and a half? Have you considered leaving yourself?
Yes, unfortunately, many good people, both photographers and models have left, including you… As for me, I’ve always wanted to live in a southern country where I could learn to surf.
Russia now has very oppressive laws prohibiting LGBTQIA+ people from expressing themselves. What is your attitude towards the gay community?
I was raised with the idea that we should treat everyone the same; that everyone has their own choices about who to love and who to be. Unfortunately, traditional social norms try to impose what’s right and wrong on everyone. But it should be everyone’s choice.
«My tattoos are more about art than having specific meanings»
How would you define your sexual orientation?
I’m one hundred per cent heterosexual. I was raised by three women, so I love women in every sense.
But I’m sure you receive a lot of offers and compliments from gay men.
Yes, after I started participating in photoshoots, offers and compliments poured in from all sides. Initially, it scared me a bit, but now I understand that it’s normal. Everyone likes it, regardless of their orientation.
If you’re feeling down or your mood is low, what can lift your spirits?
I don’t have mood swings. There are periods when my energy is depleted and then I just retreat into the shadows for a couple of days. After that, I’m perfectly fine. Otherwise, I try to stay positive all the time, enjoying the simple things: waking up already good, having something to eat, a roof over my head, having nice people and friends around… No reason to be sad!
How often do you travel? And where would you like to visit the most?
I travel very rarely, mostly because many of my friends have started families and can’t accompany me on trips anymore. As cliché as it may sound, I love watching sunsets, so I would love to visit Indonesia, California, Brazil or Cambodia.
What kind of underwear do you prefer?
I prefer boxers and briefs.
On the beach?
I wear classic briefs to show off my tattoos and their beauty.
What about jockstraps or thongs?
Those are the most uncomfortable underwear for me. I know jockstraps were originally designed for athletes but, as an athlete, I can say they’re not very comfortable.
When was the last time you felt a bit embarrassed about your behaviour?
I’m usually more embarrassed by other people’s behaviour. As for myself, it was probably at a party when I very much wanted someone to like me and ended up overindulging in alcohol. When I was finally ready to confess my feelings, I couldn’t even stand up and string two words together.
What’s the most romantic gesture you’ve ever made?
When I’m in a relationship, I try to make my significant other happy with small gestures and surprises. I can’t boast about any grand romantic gestures.
Do you have any unfulfilled sexual fantasies?
With age and experience, crazy ideas that I couldn’t even think of before often come to mind! Lately, I’ve been thinking about fulfilling a fantasy involving MMF. [Two men with a woman.]
What would be your dream photoshoot?
A beach at sunset. The ocean and the warmth would set the mood for creating hot content, I think.
How do you feel about home video shoots? Have you ever done something like that in the bedroom?
Oh, I’m totally fine with it! I’ve had such an experience (more than once) when my ex created an OnlyFans account and asked for my help in creating content for her. I acted as a true porn director, choosing angles and poses, and then editing the videos!
When can your fans expect to see you on OnlyFans?
I’ve thought about it a lot but, unfortunately, I haven’t done much for it yet. But, as they say, hope dies last!
